What to expect

You're welcome to schedule a free 15–20 minute video consultation. This is a chance for us to get to know each other and for you to ask any questions you may have before beginning therapy. I'll ask a bit about what you're hoping to work on, and I’ll also want to hear what's important to you in a therapist and what you believe makes therapy helpful.

We can also review insurance and payment information during this time.

If you're ready to move forward, we can schedule your first session. If you’d prefer to think about it, I’ll provide clear instructions on how to schedule later. I use HIPAA-compliant systems for both scheduling and billing to ensure your privacy and security.

Your First Session

Our first session is focused on understanding your goals, identifying your strengths, and exploring any barriers you might be facing. We’ll also discuss current symptoms and any significant life experiences that may be impacting your well-being.

You’ll leave this session with:

  • A clearer understanding of your symptoms

  • Immediate strategies to begin coping

  • Optional homework, if it feels helpful to you

  • One or more short-term goals we’ll work on together

Ongoing Sessions

In ongoing work, we’ll deepen our understanding of what’s showing up for you. We’ll fine-tune coping tools, identify triggers, and begin the process of healing from past trauma or distress. We will go at a pace that feels manageable and safe.

I work collaboratively, and your feedback is not only welcome, it’s essential. Your voice matters in shaping our work together.

I draw from evidence-based approaches including:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): to help you identify and shift unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors.

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS): to support connection with the different parts of yourself; especially those that carry pain or protect you from it.

  • Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT): to highlight your strengths and create clear, achievable steps forward.

These methods are tailored to your unique needs, and I believe in working together to find what resonates most with you.

I value collaboration and invite your feedback throughout the process; your insights are an essential part of our work together.
